Staff Spotlight: Today’s Staff Spotlight shines on Mitzi Vernon, ACS, our wonderful Customer Relations and Licensing Manager at Pilot Financial. Mitzi is a Summerfield native, and attended college at Guilford Tech, where she earned her Associate Degree in Business Administration. From there, she began work at Jefferson Standard with Pilot’s President, Roger Seigler, as his trusted personal assistant. Throughout the years and company transitions to Jefferson-Pilot and now Lincoln, Mitzi has remained a constant loyal employee to Pilot, as she has followed the company for four decades.
Mitzi’s primary duties include handling agency licensing and customer service-related issues, and she works closely with Pilot’s New Business team and with Greg Smith, Pilot’s Director of Sales & Marketing. She has a deep knowledge of Lincoln’s Departments, and works as a liaison with Pilot’s financial professionals if they need assistance with licensing or commissions questions. As you can tell from her various job descriptions, Mitzi enjoys working with others. Her main focus in pursuing this career is that it is such a “people-oriented business.” And if you know Mitzi, she has a true gift in working with others.
Assisting with such a wide range of clients, agents, and staff is Mitzi’s favorite part of her job. She loves talking with clients who have been with the company since its beginning stages as Jefferson Standard. Mitzi sees first-hand how beneficial the products and professional service have been for the client. Mitzi feels a sense of satisfaction knowing that we have been able to enhance the customer service experience and provide a great service for clients and agent alike.
When Mitzi is not handling business at Pilot, she enjoys spending time with her husband, Mike, two daughters, Lindsay and Kaylee, and their “spoiled-rotten” dog, Chloe. Mitzi enjoys watching her daughters perform in various musical and theatrical productions, as both are Performing Art students at the University of North Carolina at Greensboro. Mitzi is a huge basketball fan, specifically pulling for the UNCG Spartans & Duke Blue Devils, and loves this time of year!
