Meet Zach Engraff, owner of Buffalo Financial Strategies. His mission statement is, “I think people in my profession have done a great job of telling people what to do and a terrible job of teaching them WHY. Whenever I meet with a client, my goal is to ensure that not only do they understand what we are discussing, but ultimately I want them to be able to teach it back to their friends.”
Zach collaborates with clients to share financial knowledge, and takes the time to ensure they understand the process and key concepts. That educational experience is core to how Zach builds strong relationships with his clients.
He always knew he would be in sales and the financial services industry in some form, but his father, a Managing Partner for New York Life, truly influenced him to pursue his career. When Zach graduated from the University of Colorado with degrees in both Business and German Literature, his father convinced him that New York Life was a good option. During his 14 years with New York Life, he found that he enjoyed the symmetry of the business. The harder they worked and the more successful they became, the more people they were able to help.
To provide more extensive options to his clients, Zach decided to become an independent financial professional with Lincoln Financial Securities in 2016. It enabled him to provide a more holistic and unbiased approach for the people he serves.
For nearly 20 years, Zach has been advising and educating investors – including specialized experience working with employees at the Los Alamos National Laboratory (LANL). From his days playing football for the University of Colorado with a friend from Los Alamos, Zach has been connected to the LANL community.
When not with his clients, Zach invests time with his family, including coaching his son’s sports teams in baseball, basketball, and football. The family also enjoys attending his daughter’s competitive cheerleading competitions. As a fun fact, Zach and his wife got engaged and married in the CU Buffaloes Stadium. Guess you can say they are big fans (hence the company name)!
