As a former Police Officer in New Hampshire, Chris Roney learned a thing or two about compliance. But he soon discovered a passion in helping independent financial advisors grow their practice to a level beyond even their own expectations, while staying in the bounds of compliance.
Chris’ role as Pilot’s Director of Field Development keeps him on the go, working directly with financial advisors across the country. Chris has a unique ability to motivate and facilitate to help advisors’ businesses blossom. His personal experience as a securities advisor enables him to help solve compliance issues from the representative’s perspective. As a Co-OSJ, Chris shares supervisory responsibilities for all Registered Representatives associated with Pilot Financial.
The banking industry was Chris’ first stop in the financial services field. After earning his degrees he worked in the property and casualty insurance field with Peerless Insurance in New Hampshire. Chris joined Jefferson Pilot as a compliance manager in 1999, becoming an OSJ Manager with Lincoln Financial Securities in 2004. Chris grew his operation from 10 Registered Representatives to 70 in a few short years, and then merged his practice with Pilot Financial in 2011.
Chris earned an Associate’s degree in Management and a Bachelor’s in Financial Management from Franklin Pierce College. He holds FINRA series 6, 7, 24, 63 and 65 licenses. He serves on the Lincoln Financial Planning Forum Committee and is a member of The Resource Group with Lincoln Financial. Chris and his family recently relocated from the West Coast to the Greensboro, North Carolina area.
